Sue is brilliant with the cats, Harvey is an extremely nervous cat despite his size but Sue is wonderful with him. We count ourselves very lucky to have found Clearwood Cattery after the cattery we always used closed on the retirement of its owners. We never thought that we would find another place where the staff would care for our Maddie so well - but we were instantly taken with Sue when we looked around Clearwood: it is evident that she loves cats and that they love her. Maddie looked relaxed and happy when we picked her up after her two week stay at Clearwood and we will be relaxed and happy to leave her there in future.2012

We were very pleased to have found Sue & Clearwood Cattery for our cat, Poppy ; our cat is on a special diet & is quite timid among people who she doesn't know but with Sue & Clearwood, she has found the perfect retreat when we are away. Sue is very attentive & loves the cats as though they were her own & we are always confident that Poppy is in the best hands in her second home. The cattery is very well appointed with super outside chalets containing the necessary requirements for the occupants. On occasions, Poppy has been reluctant to come back with us so she clearly settles in at Clearwood very well. Autumn 2012

If you are looking for a cattery with a difference then look no further, having always owned a cat I have experienced many catteries. To be fair all of them have provided good accommodation and basic needs have been catered for, but at Clearwood your cat receives more than the bare essentials they ‘re ‘ Cared for’ in the wider sense of the word
You really feel Sue and the team have taken the time to get to know your cat , their likes , dislikes and behaviours. Unfortunately I have had to use the cattery on many occasions during the year so Barney has got to know them so well he purrs on arrival! Summer2012

Sue at Clearwood Cattery provides a wonderful service. She is friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. She really understands the attachment owners have to their cats and aims to provide a home away from home. While I can't say Fred loves going there - he hides under the bed as soon as the carry basket appears - once he arrives at Clearwood and is met by Sue, he's happy to come out of the basket and make himself at home. Sue maintains high standards and I'm always confident that I can enjoy my holiday because Fred is being well looked after while I'm away. When I collect him he looks good and obviously has been brushed regularly to keep his long fur in good condition. He settles back in at home quickly - a sure sign that he has been cared for really well. I feel very fortunate to have Clearwood Cattery just a few miles from my door. Summer 2012

I was most anxious to find a cattery (our previous one was in New Zealand) that I felt confident could cope with the responsibility of taking care of my babies. We have two 12 year old long haired cats, brother and sister, different personalities and one higher maintenance (special diet and daily medication) than the other. What a delight to find Sue and Andy! I called in unannounced and was impressed with the facilities they offer, the cleanliness and the systems they have in place. Sue and Andy put me at ease with their genuine keenness for understanding routines and noting special diets, medications and they even kept up the brushing regime!! I know Molly and Jesse enjoyed their stay and evidence of that is on the ‘About’ page. Jesse is just giving Sue his ‘slobber’ kiss!! I know they are looking forward to their next holiday at Clearwood!  Winter 2012

Misty had only been with us for 3 months and I will admit that when we first left her with Clearwood Cattery earlier in the year we were somewhat apprehensive but we needn't have worried - they were all so lovely with her and made us and her feel completely at ease. It's so lovely to know that when we leave her with Clearwood she gets the same level of love, care and attention that she gets at home.
We know that she is comfortable and happy during her stay as, when we left her at Christmas, she left us without a second glance and settled in so happily and was purring within moments, I think if we dared to leave her with another cattery if/when we go away again, we'd be in trouble!   Winter 2012

My girlfriend and I recently left our 5 month old kittens, Quint and Hooper, for 6 nights at Clearwood Cattery. Like many people we were terrified of leaving our little darlings when we went on holiday, but shortly after meeting Sue and looking around our worries soon dissolved. The premises were very welcoming and spotlessly clean with plenty of toys and climbing apparatus for keeping our kitties entertained in their own little suite. We missed our boys terribly but Sue went to the trouble of texting us to let us know they had settled in fine. Six (long) days later we excitedly picked up our boys to find two very happy, very contented and well looked after kittens who seemed like they had had a better holiday than we did! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Clearwood to other animal owners and the next time we plan on going away our boys will definitely be having another break with Auntie Sue.   Winter2011

Being a Birman and thus requiring the best of everything at all times, I really feel I should make all you cats out there aware of the delightful cattery that I stayed in recently. Of course, I know we all hate being away from our normal territory but this cattery proved to be home from home ~ which for me, is saying something as I have hated every other cattery up to now. The accommodation provided is impressive with well equipped lounging areas at the front of each spacious enclosure together with warm, cosy bedrooms behind. All mod cons are provided and a well trained human is on hand should we felines require anything else ~ what more could any self respecting feline wish for ?

Our rescue cat Clemmie had spent six months in a cats' home and had been with us for only three months, so we were a little anxious as to how she might react to being once again confined in a pen. But she spent an entirely happy week at Clearwood Cattery, and once home again immediately settled back as though she had never been away. Sue Lewis is extremely kind, a real cat lover, the "suites" are very light, comfortable and spacious and I have no hesitation in recommending this cattery very strongly indeed. Autumn2011

When your cat is more like your baby, it's important that you're happy with where you leave them if you go away. Clearwood is as near to 'home from home' as you're going to get. In fact, Floosie now hides when we come to collect her in the hope that she'll get an extra night there! The fact that Floosie settles well when she returns home shows that she's had as good a holiday as we have. Our cat Harry has stayed at Clearwood Boarding cattery three times now and will soon be paying his fourth visit. Sue who manages the cattery is always so welcoming and accomodating and it is obvious she treats our cat as if he were her own. The cattery is always fresh and clean. Each cat has a scratch post at least two beds and ping pong balls to play with. Sue takes the time to pay attention to each and every cat with one on one interaction be it playing or grooming. Harry did not seem too thrilled to come home last time! I would recommend Clearwood to anyone - professional and caring. Purrrrfect  Summer2011
